The Benefit of Pilates
Clinical Pilates is an excellent way to improve physical fitness, whether your goal is to enhance athletic performance or boost daily mobility. This form of Pilates offers a specialized, low-impact approach to building strength, fitness, and flexibility. With personalized guidance from a physiotherapist, you will receive tailored support, to target any areas that may be causing pain or discomfort. This allows you to focus on specific areas that might be contributing to the injury or strain.
The benefits of Clinical Pilates include:
– Improved Core Strength – as the focus is on building a strong core, which can enhance the overall stability and support for the spine
– Enhanced Balance and Coordination – exercises help improve proprioception, leading to better balance and coordination in daily activities
– Better Posture and Alignment – emphasis on proper alignment, which may assist in helping to correct postural issues and improve body mechanics
– Low-Impact Exercises – the gentle, low-impact nature of Clinical Pilates makes it suitable for all fitness levels, including those with existing conditions and/or during recovery
– Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation – personalised exercises designed to target and strengthen areas prone to injury, aiding in both prevention and recovery
– Guided Rehab – through personalised programs, your physiotherapist will tailor exercises to address your specific needs, whether related to pain, injury or fitness goals
– Enhanced Flexibility and Mobility – controlled movements and stretches assist in joint flexibility and overall mobility
– Stress Reduction – the focus on controlled breathing and mindful movement
promotes relaxation and can reduce stress levels.
These advantages make Clinical Pilates a highly effective and adaptable method for fitness, rehabilitation, and overall well-being.
Many people try working out at home but struggle with staying consistent, managing ongoing injuries, or finding the time. Others might simply not enjoy the gym environment as much. If this sounds like you, our physio rehab classes could be the perfect solution for you, offering flexible scheduling and varying class times to fit your time commitments.
In rehab class, we have a varied approach to exercise, primarily using reformers and mat based Pilates, whilst incorporating therabands, resistance rings, foam rollers, hand weights, a BOSU, fitball, and XRslides. You will receive a personalized program tailored to address your specific needs. All of our classes are run by our physiotherapists and patients will have to go through an initial assessment with one of our physiotherapists to assess their fitness levels and to discuss any prior injuries or pain concerns.
We’ve recently opened a new exercise studio primarily for our rehab classes. This spacious studio, combined with our small class size (a maximum of 4 people per class), allows us to provide a focused and attentive environment for your rehab class. Your personalized program will be designed to meet your individual needs and keep you engaged and motivated.
Leap Back Physio offers 10 rehab classes per week, accommodating a diverse range of participants, including adults and adolescents, males and females. Our classes are suitable for everyone. Feel free to give us a call to discuss how physiotherapy-based Pilates might benefit you.
